Store your machines safely

Prevent battery damage during the construction holiday: store your machine correctly

The construction holiday is approaching. Will your machine with a CHD, CHDe, or e-Drive system from SDK be temporarily out of use? Make sure to store it properly. With a few simple measures, you can prevent damage to the batteries and electronics and extend the lifespan of the system.

Important storage instructions

To keep your hybrid or electric system in optimal condition, we recommend the following guidelines:

  • Charge the battery to 30% to 40% (SOC) before storing the machine.
  • Never store the machine fully charged or fully discharged. This can cause severe cell damage. In exceptional cases, overcharging can even pose a fire hazard.
  • Choose a cool, sheltered storage location. Preferably keep the machine out of direct sunlight. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures can significantly increase battery temperature and cause damage.

Prevent unnecessary damage

Because your machine is equipped with a hybrid or electric system, these preventive measures are important for safe storage and to maximize the lifespan of the system.
