What is a CHD-e?

The Combined Hybrid Drive electric (CHD-e) is a 100% electric drive system. By using the CHD, an electric motor can work together with a battery pack to produce energy. The CHD-e has two modes of operation: Electric mode and Hybrid mode.

Electric

The CHDe operates 100% electrically, using the battery pack and the electric motor. The software ensures the most efficient use possible. The machine can remain continuously connected to the mains supply while operating. The battery pack can also be charged using a mains connection to extend the working day.

Hybrid

The main functionality remains exactly the same as the “Electric Mode”, with the addition that charging can also take place, in a highly efficient manner, via the built-in range extender. The nominal available electric power can also be increased with the installed capacity of the range extender.

In this mode, the machine can be powered in a highly efficient hybrid way, with or without any form of mains connection. This results in significant fuel savings and reduced operating hours.

You remain in control of the installation and are therefore free to select the right “Mode” for your project: 100% emission-free and electric, or conventional and as efficient as possible. The choice is yours.
