SDK Engineering develops and integrates electric and hybrid drive systems for heavy equipment. For Hakkers, we completed the full electrification of a Doosan, including battery pack, high-voltage system, CANbus integration, software development, and commissioning.

SDK Engineering completed the full electrification of a Doosan machine for Hakkers. This project demonstrates how existing heavy machinery can be successfully converted to a fully electric solution without compromising on performance, safety, or reliability.

Our engineers managed the entire process: from engineering and system design to assembly, software development, testing, and commissioning. The electric drivetrain is fully integrated into the original machine architecture, ensuring all systems work together optimally.

Thanks to an 833 kWh battery pack, a 200 kW DC fast charging system, and 80 kW AC charging capacity, the machine is suitable for long-term emission-free operation. The complete installation communicates via CANbus and features integrated safety and monitoring systems. Through an online user portal, the machine can also be monitored remotely, providing real-time insight into performance and system status.

After completion, the machine successfully passed the official inspection and was approved without any remarks.

Which machines does SDK Engineering electrify?

We convert machines that have an internal combustion engine, specifically for higher power applications. This mainly includes non-road machinery. It is not related to a specific brand or type of machine. So far, we have already electrified or are working on: Doosan, Klemm, Hitachi, Sennebogen, Sumitomo, Takeuchi, Woltman, etc. This includes foundation machines, telescopic cranes, pile driving rigs, concrete pumps, material handlers, and other heavy mobile equipment.

Does SDK Engineering also develop the software?

Yes. In addition to the hardware, we also develop the software for controlling electric drives, CANbus communication, safety functions, and energy management.

Does SDK Engineering also provide the complete installation?

Yes. We take care of engineering, assembly, electrical installation, software development, testing, commissioning, and delivery, including certification and CE marking of the installation.
